What You'll Get
With its many storms, krakens, and enormous babies treating it as their bathtub, the ocean can be a perilous place for a bobbing boat. Learn to navigate this wild frontier with today’s Groupon for All Points of Sail Sailing School at Lakeside in Seabrook. Choose from the following options:
- $30 for a three-hour guided kayaking tour (a $60 value)
- $48 for a three-hour group sailing lesson (a $97.50 value)
Though you can bring an entire crew of mateys with you to either option, each person will need to bring their own Groupon.
All Points’ guided kayaking tour (courtesy of Houston Rowing) puts the human body’s plastic paddle-arms to good use as you explore the shores and wildlife of Clear Lake and Galveston Bay. To make sure all experience levels are on the same page, an experienced guide will first get newbies onto their sea-feet by teaching them how to steer and stay balanced. From there, you’ll be free to ply the local waters under your own steam as your guide regales you with fun facts and helpful tips. Gliding gracefully and quietly through open water in a boat that needs no batteries, engine, or nuclear reactor is a sublime, eco-friendly experience—as well as exercise that doesn’t feel like exercise. Kayaking tours depart Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. and return at 11 a.m., with evening sessions to be scheduled, and run year-round. All equipment is included.
All Points of Sail's real claim to fame, however, is its sailing lessons, all of which are taught by United States Coast Guard–licensed captains aboard a versatile fleet of sleek, classy ships. The three-hour group sailing lesson takes groups of up to six landlubbers onto the open water in a 22', 25', 28', or 36' sailboat, on which they’ll learn how to handle all the lines, crew the ship, take the helm, and dance the hornpipe. The lesson is pure hands-on field experience, with no fancy classrooms or book learning to muddy your mind-waters. Sailing lessons take place every Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to about 11 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to about 9 p.m. Call ahead to schedule your trip.
Four Google Mappers give All Points of Sail a perfect five-star average:
- I received a class for a basic sailing course here, and I was impressed with the quality of the instruction. I returned for the next class, which was a three day combo course. I plan on doing more sailing with them when time and money permits! – King, Google Maps
- If you need experienced teachers with extensive knowledge on the water, look no further. Experienced instructors - who will teach you to sail. – Luis, Google Maps

About Let's Go Sailing School
An affiliate school of the American Sailing Association, Let's Go Sailing School teaches students of all levels how to sail with confidence under the tutelage of experienced guides and instructors. Instructors sprinkle landlubbers with the knowledge necessary to tear through the water on any size vessel, ranging from large-keel boats to windsurfing boards and kayaks. The school's diverse coterie of courses covers crucial nautical subjects, including sailing certification, coastal navigation, chartering, and night sailing. The expert captains also lead charters through the Gulf of Mexico and Galveston Bay as well as summer camps in which kids man kayaks and Sunfish sailboats to gain hands-on practice, which is believed to be the second-best teacher after self-hypnosis.
