Alter Ego's talented technicians primp and polish customers' fingers. The 40-minute Shellac manicure provides the durability and zero dry time of gel nails with the ease of application and smooth, slick finish of traditional polish. Once applied, the wet Shellac polish takes a trip underneath the special UV lamp, hardening into a chip-defying, ultra-shiny finish and eliminating smudges from purse rummaging and plugging differential equations into a graphing calculator. The finish can last up to two weeks without degrading, and is removed easily with no harm to the natural nails, unlike acrylic removal, which uses tiny, club-wielding trolls to bash away unsightly remnants.

About Alter Ego
Part art gallery, part salon, Alter Ego has two distinct faces. But like the layers of a chic haircut, the two blend together perfectly into something more creative. Canvases small, large, and gigantic surround the loft-like space, from the couch in the waiting room to the styling stations themselves. The artwork takes many forms: maybe pen and pencil creations from artist Kevin Ponce, or urban street art from the likes of Grey Griffin. On special occasions, DJs spin tunes to celebrate the opening of a new gallery exhibit.
It's the perfect setting to inspire creativity in the salon team, who cut and color hair for men and women. Those looks become even more nuanced at the Blow Dry Bar. Here, clients choose from nine base styles, such as the BE Short (short, sassy, and textured hair) or the BE Glam (a bold, retro look). From there, they can choose add-ons including the BE Healthy treatment for split ends or the BE Pampered treatment for a 10-minute scalp and neck massage.
