Individuals living with drug addiction are at greater risk of becoming exposed to HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C, and other illnesses due to unsafe practices such as the sharing or use of unsanitary needles. The Austin Harm Reduction Coalition helps prevent the spread of disease in communities affected by drug addiction by providing disease-prevention education and materials.
The Austin Harm Reduction Coalition distributes wound-care kits to help those living with addiction safeguard themselves from blood-borne illnesses often contracted through contact with hazardous materials. Each kit contains gloves, steri-strips, saline, band-aids, antiseptic, antibiotics, and gauze and is provided free of charge. To ensure its assistance reaches those who most need it, the Austin Harm Reduction Coalition delivers the wound-care kits via van to communities affected by addiction.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help the Austin Harm Reduction Coalition reduce the spread of illness and disease. If G-Team members raise $500, the Austin Harm Reduction Coalition can purchase and distribute 250 wound-care kits. Each additional $10 raised will purchase another 20 wound-care kits.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
