Workouts feel haphazardly put together with minimal boxing instruction.

I never knew boxing would be so much fun and such a great full-body workout! It was difficult to go from not working out at all to coming here but even through the soreness I am totally hooked.

I love this place! The head instructor, Nathan, is friendly and knowledgeable. It's an inclusive atmosphere that's pretty gender balanced. The workouts are tough, but that's what brings people together. I'd really recommend BBBC, especially with the Groupon which is a great deal.

This was my first class and it met my expectations. I am taking self defense classes and this type of work out fits well with my training. Looking forward to many more workouts 👍

Great place to go for: NO instruction NO explanation NO actual coaching of any kind. Owner spent the whole class scrolling through his phone while clients did circuits that will/do result in serious injury if not done with proper form. Brings his insanely stinky dog to class and there is dog hair everywhere. Owner shows up late and doesn't start class on time. Aggression isn't neutral-- look it up

About Ballard Barbell and Boxing Club

After his high-school and college sports careers ended, Nathan Schroeder was bummed out, but hardly done with being active. He turned to boxing as a means to keep his body at rope-coil consistency. Nathan also immersed himself in CrossFit, which added the strength-building component that his cardiovascular punching workout had been lacking. After building an impressive list of certifications—including Level 1 CrossFit instructor, USA Boxing coach, and nutritional therapist practitioner—Nathan opened Ballard Barbell and Boxing Club, where he shares his blend of boxing, functional fitness, and nutritional strategies with all skill levels.

Nathan's class routines change daily to boost each student's strength, stamina, speed, and agility—not to mention the sheer explosive power of their punches. Boxing combinations share time with CrossFit elements such as weightlifting, prepping his most advanced students to wield barbells as hidden weapons in the ring. Kettlebells, sprints, plyometrics, and gymnastics also play a role in the regimen.
