All our sandwiches come from bread baked especially for Bat 17 by Bennison's Bakery, an Evanston institution since 1938. World Cup of Baking Gold Medalist and Certified Master Baker, Jory Downer, personally manages the painstaking process to produce the Bat 17 specialty breads. Bennison's uses organic and whole grain flours and all of Bat 17 breads are baked with unbleached, unbromated flour. After each daily delivery, the breads are hand-sliced and each sandwich slice is individually grilled with the finest 100 % virgin olive oil.
