Bonz Smoke and Taphouse
The Atherton Cotton Mill opened in 1893, back when the cotton industry was still booming and hard-working Americans still poured whiskey—not milk—over their cereal. Today, Bonz Smoke and Taphouse occupies the historic South End mill, and whiskey is one of its primary passions. In fact, nearly one-third of Bonz's massive whiskey selection is aged straight from oak barrels. But Bonz's dedication to good booze doesn't end with whiskey; the tap house also carries nearly 40 craft beers, the majority of which hail from local breweries.
The food is a point of pride here, too. Southern-style barbecue favorites headline the extensive menu, including slow-smoked ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and signature wings that are flame-grilled and tossed to order. More than 30 large-screen HDTVs beam big games across the massive space as guests dig into their barbecue feasts, and outside, patio diners don't miss a play thanks to five TVs of their own.
