What You'll Get
C.S. Lewis once claimed, “You can’t get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me,” but he retracted that statement after he was fitted for a tuxedo made from Oxford English Dictionary pages. Step into textbook trappings with today’s Groupon: for $7, you get $15 worth of new and used books from Book Nook in Newburgh.
Thanks to owner Wynne Beck, who holds a degree in library science, Book Nook's shelves are stocked with thousands of meritorious, meticulously organized new, gently used, and collectible tomes. Among the shop's cozy brick walls, you'll find volumes from historical heavyweights such as William Shakespeare and Robert Lewis Stevenson, as well as bestsellers from contemporary authors such as Danielle Steel and Stephen King. Subjects range from instructive cookbooks and children’s favorites to more serious academic subjects, such as history, wars, and Star Trek. Most books range from $0.50 to $21.99, and used magazines range from $0.10 to $3, depending on their potential to be used as wallpaper after reading.
