Recent studies show that people who dance tend to possess above-average strength, endurance, and flexibility, as well as a significantly lower risk of getting served. Hone this vital skill with today’s deal: for $42, you get eight kids' or teens' ballroom dance classes at Bravo Dance Studio (a $120 total value). Class times will be determined by enrollment.
Bravo Dance Studio's courses in social and competitive dance styles from ballroom to swing have earned it the designation of best dance studio in 2010 from WHAS11. Broken up into four groups accommodating 3-year-olds through high-school seniors, kids' and teens' ballroom classes lay the groundwork for a variety of traditional jigs in an educational and social environment in which they may only communicate through twirls and dips. Lessons instruct in the projection of poise and decorum while honing dexterity and challenging limbs and lungs. Pack your promenading tot or adolescent off to class for eight toe-tapping weeks.
Whippersnappers count steps on Bravo’s top-of-the-line ballroom-dance floor, which, like the best Scandinavian cuisine, is imported from Denmark and crafted from beech hardwood. The floating system is suspended over foam padding, designed specifically for ballroom-dancing foot fusion. Studio owners Alex and Svetlana Ioukhnel have more than 25 years of experience teaching and performing dance. They bring their amassed experience to bear at Bravo, maintaining a highly professional studio for students and instructors alike.
Bravo Dance Studio
At Bravo Dance Studio, owners Alex and Svetlana Ioukhnel understand that where learning to dance is concerned there is no single formula. That's why they've gathered a troupe of professional instructors to teach students of all levels and ages a variety of movement disciplines. A Latin-dance instructor teaches the latest moves seen at clubs, from Cuban-style salsa to bachata. The studio’s wedding-dance coordinator helps engaged couples create a memorable dance for their wedding reception. And, beginner students can start the adventure by learning basic steps that lay the groundwork for more advanced moves. Classes are held in the Bravo’s two sparkling ballrooms, outfitted with LED lights that dress the floating hardwood floors in red, blue, and green hues. The voices of Frank Sinatra, Duffy, and Barney the Dinosaur burst through the speakers during any given class, offering a variety of tunes to dance to. To keep toes twinkling, Friday nights feature social dance parties, where guests can practice their skills.
