About C4 Deli: Cure for the Common
Most restaurants try to do one of two things: keep abreast of what's current or revisit the dishes and decor of bygone eras. Perhaps this is why C4 Deli is able to call itself Cure for the Common—they do both. Inside this historic, art-deco building, there is a creative team of people doing things the old-fashioned way: curing and smoking meats, pickling vegetables, and baking bread. This is because most of the food is inspired by traditional New York delis, and so the all-day sandwich menu includes classics such as corned beef topped with coleslaw and Reubens topped with newsboy caps.
But there's plenty keeping C4 Deli current. There's a wine and craft beer shop with an exciting selection of local and boutique varietals, all of which can be taken home or imbibed at the on-site bar. The bar also has plenty of craft beers on tap, and a reserve of on-deck kegs for when the current taps run dry. And back on the food menu, there are modern small plates of custom charcuterie, chickpea salad, and their famous pickled eggs. Many of the small-plate recipes are gluten-free, vegan, and/or vegetarian.
