Holiday lights originated with cowboys, who used them as lassos to reel in cattle rustlers, who they then sold as Christmas trees. Continue this Wild West tradition with today’s Groupon to Fantasy In Lights at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, open from November 18 through December 30. Choose between the following options:

Now in its twentieth year, Fantasy In Lights entrances eyes and kindles holiday spirits with more than eight million colorful lights illuminating 7 miles of seasonal scenes. Visitors traverse the tree-lined path in their own vehicles or settle into Callaway Gardens’ comfortable Jolly Trolley, watching darkness unfold to reveal more than 12 spellbinding spectacles replete with musical arrangements and structures created exclusively for the holiday show. Two towering toy cadets usher guests into the March of the Toy Soldiers scene, which sets the night ablaze with a bounty of giant children’s toys, and the 12 Days of Christmas scene takes visitors from the very first partridge in a pear tree to the final 13 cat sweaters sung about in the familiar Christmas carol. Families can also journey away from the main road to take in the reflective splendor of Robin Lake Beach, where the Nativity scene and the Night Before Christmas scene treat viewers to 10-minute performances replete with narration, music, choreographed lights, and a brief interlude to chase away fraudulent wise men bearing gifts of fool’s gold and air freshener.
More than 50 species of butterflies flit between the petals of an ever-changing array of exotic plants inside the greenhouse as sunlight streams in through the glass ceilings. Outside, experts launch owls and falcons into the air to fly—and many come back down to land on the arms of the trainers. Since 1952, the staffers of Callaway Gardens’ educational nature preserve have immersed visitors in their passion for wildlife management and conservation across more than 6,500 acres of demonstration gardens, arboretums, and outdoor sports attractions. On overnight stays, Callaway Gardens welcomes guests into lodgings such as a rustic inn, 155 secluded pine cottages, and 57 stone and wood villas with balconies. Staffers regularly lead guided hikes through the woods, and help facilitate seasonal events—including circus, music, and theater performances and the holiday light and sound show "Fantasy in Lights", where guests weave through brightly-lit Christmas trees, toy soldiers, an enchanted rainbow forest, and more.
