About Carlisle Bowenwork
At Carlisle Bowenwork, Joe Schaefer has been studying the Alexander Technique for the past 5 years. He is AmSAT-Certified, having trained in Baltimore's AT Mid-Atlantic teacher training program. Alexander Technique teaches clients how to unlearn harmful habits of movement through thinking and choice in order to improve posture and reduce pain. The heart of Bowenwork lies in the body’s ability to heal itself. Through the connective tissue, called fascia, the Bowen practitioner can decode the body’s tension patterns. By encouraging the body to let go of these patterns of tension, even long standing chronic pain can be relieved. Bowenwork is ideal for clients with a vast range of health complaints, the most common being both acute and chronic pain.
