About CAVs Restaurant
CAVs Restaurant has Carlos Vieira’s name all over it—quite literally. Named with Carlos’s initials, the bistro is the culmination of his lifelong dream of owning his own restaurant. The eatery serves American and European fusion fare alongside Portuguese cuisine, the latter of which Carlos is particularly familiar with thanks to growing up in his family’s restaurant outside of Lisbon, Portugal. Similarly, CAVs Restaurant is a family affair, with his wife Toni Vieira, son Carlos Adam Vieira, and daughter Vanessa Gifford all involved in the bistro’s operations.
“What we wanted to do here is very much like a European bistro with outdoor seating and good, fresh food. We’re not trying to be stuffy,” Vanessa told the Herald News. That’s why the eatery not only offers alfresco dining and upscale dishes such The CAV, which tops braised scallops topped with caviar and a creamy bacon sauce, but burger and wing specials and a flat-screen TV for Patriots games.
