What You'll Get
An underappreciated dance partner, the bedroom mirror never steps on your toes, criticizes your rhythm, or complains about your Slurpee breath. Practice your prances with today's Groupon: for $15, you get three private dance lessons plus three weeks of unlimited group lessons and practice sessions from Champion Ballroom & Latin Dance Studio in Vestavia Hills (a $195 value).
With 25 years of dance-instruction experience, Champion Ballroom & Latin Dance Studio emboldens boogie-seekers with the basics in rumba, cha-cha, mambo, and other ballroom boleros. Chief instructor Sterling Burroughs has crafted Champion's dance program like a scrumptious shepherd's pie: each class builds upon itself in luscious layers of steps, shimmies, and shallots. Private lessons set students swinging early by combining as many as six dances in only three lessons. Group lessons, which are scheduled on weekday evenings, allow hip movers to get the hang of new techniques and styles, and tune up their private-lesson twists. On Thursday nights, practice promenades in public at Champion's practice lessons, located in the studio or at local dance venues. Five group classes are available per week.
While Champion Ballroom & Latin Dance Studio offers a discount online to new members, this Groupon still offers the best deal available.

About Champion Latin and Ballroom Dance
Sterling Burroughs, the National Dance Council of America-certified dance champion behind Champion Latin and Ballroom, has been teaching dance for more than 25 years.. His impressive teaching career includes 14 Freddie Awards and more than 150 regional and national awards from the Fred Astaire Studio organization. He has trained several award-winning performers in many styles. Now, Sterling leads a team of instructors in teaching these acclaimed techniques to budding dancers of all ages and skill levels. Students learn to gracefully twirl and twist through Latin and ballroom dances such as the rumba, East Coast swing, and the foxtrot. During group and private lessons, instructors help students communicate through movement, from the long, yearning strides of the tango to the slight adjustments to falling powdered wigs performed during the Viennese waltz.
