What You'll Get
Like Ouija boards, festivals bring people into physical contact with the disembodied voices that croon nightly at their bedsides. Partake of supernatural beats with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get two admissions to BACtoberfest on Saturday, October 1, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Beverly Arts Center (a $20 value).
Created by the Young Adult Board of the Beverly Arts Center, BACtoberfest toasts the onset of autumn with live music and frosty mugs of Goose Island Harvest Ale. Celebratory duos can brainstorm tactics to defeat corn-maze minotaurs as the Ian McGarrie Band takes the stage, followed by the big-band stylings of the Ron Smolen Oktoberfest Band and the In-Laws. As night falls, the Big Hit Blues Band and Weber Band deploy driving beats to quicken the chewing pace of Fat Tommy's hearty fare and Sweet Freaks' sugar-laced confections. The on-site cash bar provides additional drinks, such as a $3 Goose Island beer, to keep the celebration lively.

About Beverly Arts Center
Art. Education. Community. Non-Profit. These four words succinctly sum up the mission of Beverly Art Center, a cultural hub in the historic Beverly Hills, Morgan Park neighborhood. The heart of the member-supported center is the 400-seat Main Stage theater, which hosts plays, dance recitals, and concerts. But the venue is equally dedicated to education, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in ceramics and film classes at the School of the Arts or attend literary events with actual authors instead of just their dust jacket photos. A spacious art gallery hosts rotating exhibitions of contemporary works by both national and regional artists.
