Regular women's health examinations are essential to maintain health and quickly identify and treat potential problems. Though these exams can be potentially life-saving, many women cannot afford regular health screenings. Chicago Women's Health Center (CWHC) makes vital care accessible by offering physical examinations and other health services to all women, regardless of age, sexual orientation, or their ability to pay.
Since 1975, the collective of doctors, health-care providers, and health educators at the Chicago Women's Health Center have served as a comprehensive resource for women's health screenings and services. One of the basic screenings the center provides are pap smears, a test that can identify a variety of infections and risks to reproductive health including the human papillomavirus (HPV), which is linked to cervical cancer. Each procedure at CWHC is conducted in a positive, caring, and confidential environment. Pap smears cost $20 to administer, and the center's staff relies largely on individual donors to fund this and other exams for those who cannot otherwise afford them.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help the Chicago Women's Health Center provide health screenings to low-income and uninsured women. If G-Team members raise $400, Chicago Women's Health Center will be able to provide pap-smear screenings to 20 women. Each additional $20 raised will provide a pap smear for another patient.
