China Chen Restaurant
Start with recipes from the China's Canton Province, sprinkle in a little bit of Hong Kong flavor, and add in techniques picked up kitchens in as far flung as New York and Port Charlotte, and you begin to understand a little of what makes China Chen so unique. The US extension of a line of family restaurants in the Canton and Guanzhou provinces, China Chen provides a culinary nod to owner Liyuan Chen's roots with specialty roasted duck and char sieu pork. Diners will recognize staples like General Tao's chicken and teriyaki steak, but it's worth straying from the familiar for dishes like the seven star plate, a medley of beef, pork, and scallions sauteed in brown sauce, and then topped with battered-fried chicken and shrimp.
