More people than ever are living a sedentary lifestyle: waking up in their racecar beds, driving to work in their racecars, sitting for eight hours in the passenger seats of experimental racecars as men in lab coats slam them into concrete walls, and then driving home again. Race to fitness with today's Groupon: for $49, you get five weeks of Fighting Fit Boot Camp classes (a $119 value) at Core Fight Academy.
Core Fight Academy’s decorated coach Blas Carrasco and his staff blast bodies of all fitness levels with intense strength training and toning workouts employing combat-sport conditioning methods. The 45-minute, outdoor Fighting Fit Boot Camp burns through exercises from cardio-boosting kick-boxing to muscle-carving lifts using cast-iron kettlebells, keeping muscles guessing and brains hoping to tone their cerebral gyros. The boot camp amps up on June 13 with a schedule of classes offered Monday through Thursday as well Saturday; trainees are welcome to attend any number of sessions each week.
Coach Blas pairs his rigorous regimen with a nutrition plan designed to aid fat loss by eschewing such self-defeating foods as deep-fried beer. Campers will also weigh in and have their body composition measured once per month in order to track weight loss and muscle gain. Should bad weather force the class indoors, Core Fight Academy’s facility flaunts a training room outfitted, much like the United Nations, with international flags and punching bags.
Core Fight Academy
Core Fight Academy puts up some impressive numbers: 2,600 square feet of total space, 1,500 square feet of mat space, a 45-foot mirrored wall for shadow boxing, and three punching bag stations. Those areas set the stage for decorated coach Blas Carrasco and his fellow instructors, who lead people down a path towards fitness and self-defense. The staff teaches classes for kids and adults—including brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai kickboxing, and fitness boot-camps.
