Unlike summer camps, boot camps won't require you to put on a fundraising talent show to stop a nefarious computer company from turning Lake Cowabunga into its new industrial-waste depository. Team up to fight unfitness with today's deal: for $62, you get four weeks of boot-camp or CrossFit classes (a $125 value) from CrossFit Providence or CrossFit Newport. Today's Groupon is valid for three sessions per week of either class.
Feeding off the positive energy of other boot campers and experienced instructors, fist-pumping participants power through each 45-minute session's suite of intense cardio, kettlebell, and resistance training. The workouts—held at Second Beach in Middleton and Brown Street Park in East Providence—can burn fat, increase flexibility and strength, and build confidence to flex during mug shots. During the course of the four-week session, participants can expect to run, walk, work out with partners, and complete targeted drills. Middleton classes take place Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 5:30 p.m., and Providence classes fortify fitness on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
CrossFit classes whip muscles into shape during varied, intense daily workouts that are scaled to cater to individual fitness levels. Drawing heavily from gymnastic motion, interval training, and Picasso's aerobic period, each session will comprise eight to 18 students as they follow a certified instructor's lead through full-body workouts. Body movers congregate at the Newport locations Monday through Saturday, and seven days a week at the Providence locations.
