About Geary Brewing Company
When David and Karen Geary started brewing in 1983, there was a mere baker's dozen of microbreweries in the United States—and most were baking their liquid bread in California and the Pacific Northwest. The couple decided to do things a little differently. After training in Scotland and England, David brought back the brewing methods he needed to Americanize some of the British Isles' classic drinks. The Gearys then established New England's first microbrewery two years later, and they've had more than 30 years to perfect their process. Now, fans can knock back an assertive IPA with a malty foundation, a pale ale that invokes Burton-on-Trent brews, and a creamy mahogany London Porter. We are always experimenting with new recipes and expanding our product line in the Tasting Room.
Today the brewery also brews contemporary styles beers in closed fermentation and offers a clean crisp OG Lager and Hef’Ah Bier Hefeweisen, both true to their German styles and an American IPA that tips its hat to both the east and west coast IPA styles.
Additionally, there is always something on draught from the brewery’s very active pilot system. The brewery offers 8 brews on tap and all their other brands are always cold in the cooler. You’ll also almost always find specialty beers like barrel aged bourbon ales. Snacks and games are available as well.
