The basic health check includes a complete blood count and a comprehensive metabolic panel composed of 20 individual tests to check for diabetes, liver disease, or kidney problems. When performed in conjunction with a Heart Healthy screening, this provides a complete picture of the patient’s overall health.
The Heart Healthy screening includes a lipid panel, which sees if cholesterol and triglycerides are in the healthy range, and a high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (CRP) test that measures the level of inflammation in the body and assesses the risk of a heart attack. A minimum of eight hours of fasting is recommended before the heart panel.
The hormone panel reads levels of either testosterone in men or cortisol in women. It also reads follicle- and thyroid-stimulating hormones to see if hormone-balancing treatments would be beneficial to the patient.
The general STD test includes HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes I and II, and syphilis; the comprehensive panel also tests for hepatitis B and C.
DiagnosticsforU bypasses the rigmarole of intrusive visits to the doctor's office with thorough and speedy health and hormone panels that test the body's trouble spots. The most popular tests check blood type, kidney function, or general heart health, though teenagers often test to see why their parents don’t understand them. The lab's speed—often offering a turnaround time of 24–48 hours—is rivaled only by its commitment to convenience. Orders can be placed confidentially by phone, and results are returned by mail, email, or fax and shared with a designated physician as desired.
