BILLY MCQUEEN started playing the drums in middle school, and continued playing in the Jazz Ensemble throughout High School and College. During that time he gained valuable experience playing professionally in local music groups, as well as the local church and the Wind Ensemble at Lamar University. While in College, he was selected 1 out of 6 drummers to attend the prestigious Skidmore Jazz Institute.

Around this time, Billy started teaching privately and quickly realized the impact that he had on his students and enjoyed watching their progression.

After graduating from Lamar, Billy was hired to teach at Lamar State College Port Arthur in the Commercial Music Department, molding students to become well-rounded drummers. Many of his students maintain an active playing and teaching career on their own.

Billy resides in Houston, Texas. He has toured Internationally and locally all the while maintaining a solid teaching studio through in-home and Skype drum lessons
