During the 2-hour workshop, students learn how to add vintage, contemporary, or French flair to furniture using CeCe Caldwell chalk and clay paints in different color combinations. With guidance from the instructor, students practice painting multilayered finishes on samples of moulding, as well as techniques for adding crackled or distressed details. The instructor then demonstrates how to apply an ending sheen with a satin finish, clear wax, and aging creams. Workshops are held on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Additional class times may also be added.

Furniture Affair

The interior advisors at Furniture Affair pose the same question to each of their clients: "What's your type?" They don't mean dating, either. During in-store consultations, they analyze a variety of factors to determine a unique design that best suits the client's tastes, style, and personality. Inside their enormous showroom, the staff guides visitors through a huge variety of furniture and home accessories from a long list of popular brands. They also host furniture-refinishing workshops, which teach students how to use chalk and clay paints to spruce up an old chair or desk.

“I took the chalk painting class and LOVED it! The instructor was very knowledgeable and friendly, and full of ideas. The store had wonderful cookies for us and there were breaks to use the restroom and go shopping. I had already bought supplies and after the class, bought some more now that I knew how to use them. I'd highly recommend the class and the store.”
