Golf, Fishing, and Boating on the Shores of Lake Texoma
More than 70 species of fish, including striped bass, largemouth bass, and catfish, live in Lake Texoma’s blue water. Locals and out-of-towners flock here to go bass fishing and sailing on this 89,000-acre lake that spreads across the Oklahoma border. Tanglewood Resort lies just steps from the peaceful shore, offering classic, beautifully furnished guest rooms, many of which look out over the lake.
Renowned golfer Arnold Palmer and course architect Ralph Plummer designed the resort's 18-hole championship golf course, which was the first in the country to install a unique, eco-friendly zoysia grass hybrid that relies on less water for irrigation. For more recreation, Tanglewood offers volleyball, basketball, horseshoes, and tennis courts, as well as pools and a fitness center.
The resort has two onsite restaurants. Savor a juicy steak at the upscale Commodore Room, which overlooks Lake Texoma, or enjoy pizza and brews at Barnacles Sports Bar and Pizzeria. In the morning, there's a breakfast buffet or meals made-to-order, based on occupancy. Buffet items may include scrambled eggs with sausage and cheese, crispy fried potatoes, biscuits and country gravy, bagels, cinnamon rolls, assorted seasonal fresh fruit, and Starbucks coffee.
