The Galveston Island Shrimp Festival
In Galveston’s Historic Downtown Strand District, unlikely events coexist—right off the back of a 5K run, participants can trot over to The Galveston Island Shrimp Festival. The event will be gumbo-tasting galore, with over 80 cook teams stewing up their most prized pots of the creole favorite. Participants can also sip on craft beers from Barefoot Brewery throughout, cooling them down from both their run and too many spicy gumbo samples.
