What You’ll Do
There might be metaphorical lovebirds attending Gia’s painting workshop—not to mention friends, family members, and people who just really like to paint—but it’ll be actual lovebirds that take center stage throughout this session. Gia, an artist with a decade and a half of experience under her paint-covered belt, leads you through the process of recreating her original piece, Lovebirds in the Sunset, step-by-step. As students complete the painting and incorporate their own touches, Gia takes the time to teach some acrylics fundamentals in a low-pressure and celebratory environment.
Learn the Ins and Outs of Acrylics
Students get a hands-on crash course in mixing, applying, and working with nontoxic, water-based acrylics.
Paint a Masterpiece
Complete your own version of Lovebirds in the Sunset on a 16”x20” canvas, then bring it home and find a place to hang it.
Your Host: Gia Coelho
If an artist’s life experiences colored their work, then Gia’s canvas would be especially vibrant. A painter since grade school, Gia was able to greatly expand her art skills over the years while still finding time to earn an MBA, learn four languages, tour India and Europe, fight for wildlife conservation, and work as a food and travel writer. Today, she continues to be quite the Renaissance woman as she leads her own painting workshops, writes about her experiences as a food editor for EnRouteTraveler.com, and shares her work online and at local art fairs.
