Although not one of the five traditional senses, a sense of humor is the only thing that allows humans to answer knock-knocks at the door. Comics who rain laughter throughout New England converge for laugh-riddled showcases presented by Meatball Comedy Stop. On April 20, Chris Tabb transfers the wry observations and topical humor of his eponymous Boston cable TV talk show to the stage. A week later, the stage blossoms with sound distorters, guitars, and other comedic fodder from the prop comic Freddie Stone. Worcester native and Catch A Rising Star winner James Dorsey returns to parade his host of characters and imitations. Known as the “Deaf Comic,” Mike Murray was hearing impaired until the age of 40, when cochlear implants passported him into the world of tuba blasts and truck air horns. Mike shares anecdotes about his sensory reclamation and sheds light on the notion that losing the ability to hear heightens a person’s capacity to smell lunar eclipses.

Meatball Comedy Stop

Meatball Comedy Stop travels to a variety of venues presenting standup sets during the night. But regardless of its latest resident bar, restaurant, or whoopee-cushion factory, it always brings along a brick-wall façade. It's served as the backdrop for a variety of national headliners. Audiences lounging in cabaret-style seating sip cocktails and munch snacks between chuckles.
