One Funny Mother
Dena Blizzard was crowned Miss New Jersey in 1995. She’s also been a comedian for more than 12 years, a correspondent and preliminary host for the Miss America Pageant, and the co-host of Anderson Live with Anderson Cooper. So it’s safe to say she’d lived a full life—but nothing could have prepared her for motherhood. In One Funny Mother, a one-woman show written by and starring Dena, she muses on her slipping sanity, on the arguments of marriage, and the tribulations of raising three kids. And since there’s only so many hours in the day, even if you’re starring in an Off-Broadway show, she’ll do it all while folding laundry and cleaning the stage. But thanks to her withering wit and charming delivery, One Funny Mother was named “Best One Woman Show” at the 2015 United Solo Festival in New York City.
