About The Museum of Flight

At Seattle's Museum of Flight, guests can enjoy the wonder of flight in a sprawling 25-acre campus. The world-renowned museum houses over 160 airplanes and spacecraft, the original Boeing Aircraft factory, flight simulators, and interactive exhibits for families. Inside the "Great Gallery," a towering 6-story glass building, 43 different aircraft are on display, spanning back as far as the early 1920s, including a rare M-21 Blackbird spy plane as well as early jet fighters from the Korean and Vietnam wars. Along with real aircraft, the Great Gallery houses flight simulators and Space Age exhibits, including the rocket engines used on Apollo 12 and 16. Adjacent to Boeing factory, guests can explore filled with dozens of rare fighter planes from World Wars I and II.

The museum's West Campus space gallery is dedicated to the space shuttle era, featuring NASA's enormous Space Shuttle Trainer that was used by every shuttle astronaut-in-training. Just outside lies the 19-plane Aviation Pavilion, which contains massive WWII bombers and airliners, a Concorde jetliner, and the first 747 and Air Force One jets. In addition to a wealth of historical exhibits, the museum contains plenty for children. The Flight Zone allows kids to play on real airplanes, as well as catching a glimpse at King County International Airport's flight operations.
