What You'll Get
Art is hard, especially when fortified by the flames of a sintering kiln. Make a piece of sturdy, ceramic eye candy with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $25 worth of paint-your-own pottery at Glaze and Glass on Long Pond Road.
At Glaze and Glass, artists practice painting pieces of pottery inside a newly remodeled, 4,000-square-foot studio that offers a variety of classes and open studio sessions for working with pottery, glass, and beads. More than 500 different blank pottery selections are available for painting, such as pumpkin dishes ($16), martini glasses ($22), and hurricane vases ($21). After choosing your pottery, a vast collection of stencils, stamps, and paint colors can be used to design your work of art upon the blank, white ceramic slate, like a philosopher inscribing a spiritual treatise in the margins of a celebrity tabloid. Once you’ve made the proper pigmentation adjustments to your teddy bear bank ($22) or ladybug box ($16), Glaze and Glass will apply a glaze and condemn your work to a trial by fire right on the premises. Completed pottery is generally available for pick-up after one week.
Glaze and Glass doesn’t charge a fee for using its studio or supplies; customers only pay for the actual piece they’re painting. The studio is open daily at certain hours for paint-your-own experiences. Use today’s Groupon to produce a unique, beautifully personalized vessel that could easily replace the priceless Ming vase you knocked off your friend’s heavily guarded desk last week.
Faster pick-up is available for an extra charge. Please call for more info.
