Discovered in 1953, pizza is the only food to have been eaten on the moon, blessed by a pope, and endorsed by Olympic marathoner Gezahegne Abera—the "triple crown" of food honors. With today's Groupon, $15 gets you $35 of fresh-made pizza, classic Italian cuisine, and drinks at The Original Graziano’s, a 2009 Citysearch Best Las Vegas Italian Food winner.
This genuine family pizzeria traces its roots to the Old World. Back in 1969, immigrants from the home of the pizza, Sicily, sensed a pizza absence in Las Vegas. Making their way to the American Southwest via New York, they founded what became today's Graziano’s, bringing along an ethos of fresh ingredients, handmade care, and an almost motherly love for the perfect pie.
That devotion to the best ingredients and techniques continues in today’s restaurant, where pizza chieftains make hand-tossed dough fresh daily using the pizzeria’s own private-recipe flour. The crust achieves a delightful fluffiness thanks to a two-step “proofing” (or rising) process. Atop this circle of delight, chefs ladle homemade sauce made from private-label spices along with heaps of mozzarella they grate themselves. Graziano’s uses only fresh vegetables, chopped by hand, and the best meats, sliced on the premises. The resulting pizza will cause roughly one in three people to swear off all other food for life. A classic cheese pie ranges from $5.25 for an individual (8”) up to $16.65 for an extra large (16”). The 24” party pizza, a full 10 pounds of circular joy, runs $24.30. Pile on the sausage, pepperoni, jalapeños, bell peppers, sliced tomatoes, and other ingredients for various additional rates, and pair your pie with a glass of wine or beer.
The same all-fresh, homemade ethos leads to a delectable offering of other Italian classics, including pastas, calzones, salads, and subs. The Original Graziano’s has a big menu that features the delectable garlic knots (eight for $4.35) and the 12-inch monster sandwich with avocado, ham, roast beef, turkey, four cheeses, lettuce, and tomato ($9.15). The popular endless buffet, available during lunch ($6.49 and $3.49 for kids) and dinner ($9.95 and $5.95 for kids), lets ambitious and hungry souls sample from all that The Original Graziano’s has to offer. This family-owned restaurant also makes a welcoming destination for kin and kind, with a children’s arcade and plenty of televisions airing rare footage of Jimmy Carter performing stand-up throughout the restaurant.
The Original Graziano's is a Citysearch Best Las Vegas Italian Food award winner in 2009 and finished second place in the 2008 Citysearch Best Las Vegas Pizza poll. Yelpers and Citysearchers give it a solid four-star rating:
- It's a great place to mingle with family & friends and enjoy the best pizza in town. – Brianna H, Citysearch
- But the Garlic knots... oh... my... god..... You have "knot" lived until you try them at least once in your life. Like everything else on the buffet table, they can't keep them around for more than a few minutes because everyone keeps eating them. Soft, fresh from the oven and coved [sic] in garlic butter. They are so good it's almost obscene! – kissfan1970, Citysearch
- It's a great place to take the kids if you have them but if you are an adult, you will love it too. – reviwwwer d., Yelp
