About This Deal
People transitioning out of homelessness, particularly those with mental illnesses or those overcoming addictions, can find it difficult to furnish new apartments and remain in housing. Through the Make It A Home fund, A-SPAN (Arlington Street People's Assistance Network) strives to keep people from becoming homeless again by helping them furnish their new homes with beds and other furniture.
A-SPAN provides housing and case management for people who suffer from mental illness and substance-abuse problems through two permanent, supportive housing programs. As A-SPAN continues to expand these programs, the demand for new furniture for their clients continues to grow. Not only can a new bed help clients feel more at home, A-SPAN's staff has noticed it also can make them more appreciative of their new housing, giving them a greater incentive for staying there. Due to health concerns, A-SPAN buys new beds and cannot accept donated beds.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help A-SPAN provide bedding for people transitioning from homelessness. If G-Team members raise $500, then A-SPAN can purchase a new queen-size mattress, box springs, and frames for one person's new home. Each additional $500 raised will be used to provide another person with a bed.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
