What You'll Get
The horse and buggy was a popular method of early transportation, far surpassing the bug and buggy, which could barely move and was often destroyed by squeamish gunslingers. Saddle up with today's Groupon at Horse Savvy Training in Poway. Choose between the following options:
- For $25, you get two group lessons (a $70 value).
- For $35, you get a trail ride around Poway Lake (a $75 value).
At Horse Savvy Training, a team of expert equestrians unites students with a steadfast herd of Mother Nature's motorcycles. To begin each one-hour group lesson, riders learn how to tack up their horses by properly equipping them with saddles, stirrups, bits, reins, and spinning hubcaps. Afterwards, students mount their saddled sidekicks to trot along with other riders while competing for the coveted title of Best Centaur Impression. Alternately, Poway Lakes trail rides begin on the upper trail, which overlooks a bouquet of oak trees, flora, fauna, and hidden coves. Halfway through the two-hour voyage, riders may enjoy a scenic picnic (food not provided) on the tables behind the lake while their horses rest and discuss the latest trends in mane styling.
Horse Savvy Training will provide riders with all equipment necessary for tacking up, as well as ASTM-SEI approved helmets, which are required for riding (any personal helmets brought along must be in compliance). Students must also wear long jeans or riding pants and boots to adequately protect their flanks and hindquarters. Though not mandatory, riding gloves and handlebar mustaches are strongly recommended.
