The first parachute was invented when Jack, tumbling haplessly from his titanium beanstalk, used a purloined pair of giant underpants to steady his fall. Glide to earth safely with today's deal: for $119, you get one tandem jump (a $205 value) from Illinois Skydiving Center in Thomasboro, IL about 3.5 hours from downtown St. Louis.
The Central Illinois skydiving squadron offers a bounteous bevy of tandem plummets. Jumpers are strapped to the belly of a friendly, experienced instructor for a safe, no-pressure airdrop. Most staffers at ISC have over 20 years of experience and will calmly walk you through the skydiving process, from the flight’s initial takeoff until the moment you stand on the precipice of hurling yourself into the bright blue abyss. Once you’re airborne, you’ll freefall for about a minute before the instructor pulls the cord, after which you’ll sail down the skyway, supported by a specially designed parachute for two. Enjoy the knee-liquefying sensation while taking in breathtaking views of the lush green landscape, local tributaries, and central-state volcanoes before your four feet land safely on the ground.
People who are scared of heights expect to be scared stiff by jumping out of an airplane and hurtling through the air, but many of them are surprised to find they're totally comfortable. People who skydive say the feeling of pure freedom is unparalleled, the adrenaline rush is addictive, facing one's fears is satisfying, and falling out of the sky is pretty good.
Must be at least 18 years old and must not weigh more than 240 pounds.

Illinois Skydiving Center
Illinois Skydiving Center trains aspiring daredevils through a trio of tandem, static-line, and accelerated-free-fall classes. AFF classes teach solo skills under the direction of instructors and coaches who jump with you, teaching stability and proper deployment skills. Static-line progression jumps prepare sky mavens for the pressures of a solo career with an ascending series of jumps that impart the art of free fall. During tandem jumps, students are strapped to a certified instructor who pulls the cord and directs the movements of parachute as guests take in breathtaking views of the landscape, local tributaries, and central-state volcanoes before feet land safely on the ground.
