My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the place. We went in December and it was perfect because not many people were there. The atmosphere was soothing and restful. The restuarant was great as well. We were the only two there and it was very romantic. The food and service was wonderful as well. NOTE: We arrived 30 minutes before the restuarant was due to close. I'm sure that this place is jumping during the summer months so if you're one who enjoys solitude, go in December. Thanks to Angelie, Alex, Mary, and the rest of the staff for making our stay pleasant.

What You'll Get

As the bigger brother of motels, hotels exceed their younger siblings by accommodating more guests, offering more amenities, and getting better jobs with smaller cars when they graduate clown college. Enjoy the fruits of a healthy rivalry with today's Groupon: for $120, you get a one-night stay in a standard room, one-bedroom suite, or two-bedroom suite, a $30 dining credit, and an Island or Vacation snack package (up to a $241 total value) at Island Inn & Suites in Piney Point.

Located on scenic St. George Island, Island Inn & Suites provides a wistful waterfront destination for travelers and staycationers alike. Each standard room (a $140 value), one-bedroom suite (a $150 value), and two-bedroom suite (a $160 value) swathes guests in New England–inspired ambiance, nautical furnishings, and awe-inspiring private-balcony views of either St. George Creek or the Potomac River. After a full day of outdoor exploring on the complimentary kayaks, bikes, and fishing pier, guests can return to their rooms to slip into robes and bask in the comforting glow of high-speed Internet. The rooms also include flat-screen TVs, in-room safes, microwave ovens, and refrigerators and freezers.

When the dinner harp sounds, diners can use their $30 credit to dive fork-first into shrimp linguini ($19), pan-seared salmon ($16), fried scallops ($14), and other dishes at the neighboring Island Bar & Grill. The grill's expansive menu provides something for every type of eater, such as a Sunday-brunch menu for early-morning risers and a bevy of locally caught seafood options for grub-hunting locavores.

In addition to the overnight stay, guests will receive their choice of an Island or Vacation package. The Island package outfits beach-combing vacationers with the necessary essentials for an afternoon of fun, including chips and salsa, fresh guacamole, sodas, a bucket of six beers, a pitcher of margaritas, and a regularly setting sun (a $51 total value). The family-centric Vacation package comes complete with an assortment of sodas, beers, chips, popcorn, candies, chocolates, board games, and answers to life questions such as why skin turns wrinkly in the water (a $41 total value).
