Improvisation is well suited for certain activities, such as comedy or sports, but disastrous for others, such as landing an airplane or performing a kidney transplant while landing an airplane. Enjoy safe, healthy improvisation with today's Groupon: for $12, you get one ticket to Jest Serendipity Improv (a $29.95 value).
Now one of the longest running improv-comedy shows in Las Vegas, Jest Serendipity stimulates its audience's humor sensors with an unconventional, team-oriented approach to performance. Originally conceived by founder and experienced improvisario Nicolas "Kopy" Kopatich, the act encourages audience participation by pitting the performers against each other in a battle for applause and prune-flavored soda, with games and skits decided entirely by the viewers. The 30+ actors begin each show by meandering through the crowd to hawk oddities such as paper clips, bad advice, and elephant rides—the same way a ballpark peanut vendor would. This sets the sporting tone early, a theme Kopy continues by acting as the show's DJ and occasionally impartial referee. The act has no lulls in action and no intermissions, with the only break coming during a "7th inning stretch" when the referee engages the audience in an ad-hoc stand-up-comedy routine.
