What You'll Get
Southern food is a distinctly American art form, much like jazz music and feigning an understanding of jazz music. Celebrate patriotic cuisine with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of Southern-inspired pub fare at Joe's Southern Grill, located at Joe Dumars’ Fieldhouse in Shelby Township. This deal expires on October 21, 2011.
The culinary conductors at Joe's Southern Grill orchestrate hearty helpings of pub grub to create a symphonic menu with a Southern twist. Warm up rusty jaw hinges with homemade potato chips, served with a triumvirate of dipping sauces ($3.49), or Slam Dunkers ($6.49), in which chefs stuff pizza bready pockets with a savory blend of pepperoni and gooey cheese after spinning dough on their little fingers. House-smoked pulled pork mixed with homemade barbecue sauce bridges the gap between two halves of an onion roll to construct the pulled pork sandwich ($7.99), while platters such as the house-smoked St. Louis ribs ($15.99 per whole slab) silence boisterous stomachs before they blurt out their owners' safe combinations. The fieldhouse turkey chopped salad boasts house smoked turkey, bacon, swiss and cheddar cheese with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and sweet gherkins ($9.99), while the grilled BBQ chicken quesadilla pairs chicken with cheddar jack cheese and shredded lettuce, and is supported by salsa and sour cream ($7.49). Postmeal cool downs begin with Fieldhouse ice-cream floats ($3.99), customizable with four varieties of pop, including Faygo red pop or Vernors cream soda.
A dining room bedecked with sporting memorabilia signed by former Pistons MVP Joe Dumars’ friends also features newly refurbished booths made from the basketball court that hosted the NBA championship won by the Pistons. While noshing and debating self-given basketball nicknames, enjoy sports on 10 plasma TVs.

About Joe Dumars Fieldhouse
Founded in 1994 as a community-based recreation center, Joe Dumars Fieldhouse is a 100,000-square-foot facility that houses sports leagues and camps in addition to an arcade-equipped entertainment center and an indoor/outdoor restaurant. Dumars' value of sportsmanship lives on through league play and pickup games on one of nine basketball courts and in two full-sized hockey arenas. Camps and clinics provide activity-based instruction to little ones, and the entertainment center's mini-golf and mini-bowling areas host small-scale enjoyment without enforcing miniature-shoe rentals. After rigorous activity, guests can head to Joe's Southern Grill, an arena-themed eatery with tables made from the Pistons' NBA-championship basketball court and a kitchen supervised by head chef Bill Laimbeer.
