What You'll Get
Unlike a tour of a Claymation movie set or Bring Your Daughter to the Large Hadron Collider Day, children's museums welcome hands-on learning. Safely mold young minds with today's Groupon: for $10, you get admission for up to four people to McKenna Children’s Museum in New Braunfels (up to a $22 value). Children younger than 12 months get in free, while all other kids and adults must have a ticket.
McKenna Children’s Museum stimulates learning with hands-on exhibits that uncover the hidden fun in science, technology, and health. The Grocery Store exhibit equips youngsters with shopping carts and a knowledge of the food pyramid before leading them through a supermarket stocked with a realistic bakery and deli. The New BraunFit exhibit showcases the sad realities of eating too many sweets with displays on diabetes and dioramas dramatizing the looming extinction of tootsie rolls. In the Shadow Room exhibit, tots manipulate a projection screen using hand shapes and good behavior, while the Destination Space exhibit pops them inside a space shuttle outfitted with an array of ultra-important-looking controls. Admission also unlocks a calendar full of daily programs, from Tasty Tuesdays' breakfast trail-mix snack times to Science Matters Thursdays, which forge fun activities out of traditionally snooze-worthy topics, such as rockets and green slime.

About McKenna Children's Museum
Within the McKenna Children's Museum, the laughter of parents and children bounces through the corridors of hands-on educational exhibits. The ever-changing features and activities foster creativity in youngsters while stimulating their interest in science, health, and nature. In a realistic grocery store, shelves full of goods let kids practice nutritional shopping and arguing over the expiration dates of coupons. Further along, the Destination Space exhibit hosts a simulated space shuttle where children can take the helm of important-looking controls. Outside the museum, a colorful maze snakes up a 30-foot climbing structure, and cushy blue building pieces are scattered across the outdoor playground.
A large gift shop packs shelves with interactive toys. A fresh salad bar stretches across the dining room of the onsite bistro, complementing a menu of healthy snacks that fuel wee ones for their day of play.
