McKenzie River Mountain Resort - McKenzie: $25 for Mountain-Bike Shuttle Service for Two from McKenzie River Trail (Up to $50 Value)

Mountain biking allows outdoor enthusiasts to commune with nature without the hassle of wind-whispering language classes or finding a wizened, forest-dwelling squirrel translator. Chew the fat with flora and fauna with today's Groupon: for $25, you get a mountain-bike shuttle service for two from the McKenzie River Mountain Resort in Blue River to the McKenzie River Trail (up to a $50 value).

The McKenzie River Mountain Resort shuttle service lets cyclists leave vehicles at the bottom of the trail and spend the day biking back to them. Riders and their two-wheeled stallions are dropped off at the trailhead, where they descend into 26 miles of 300-year-old forests, lava flows, waterfalls, and raccoon line dances. Great for beginners and advanced riders alike, the all-day excursion gradually drops single-track riders 1,800 feet. The path is free of painful climbs and challenging sudoku-puzzle pitches, allowing two-wheelers to cruise for hours down gentle descents through moss-laden forests. Riders can stop for a snack beside the topaz-hued Tomolich pool, stare into the depths of crystal-clear mountain lakes, or race ducks down the McKenzie River.

Though not included in today's deal, the McKenzie River Mountain Resort equips riders with rental mountain bikes ($45/day), ornamented with dual suspension, disc brakes, and two wheels.

McKenzie River Mountain Resort

Nestled on six rustic acres near the convergence of the McKenzie and Blue Rivers, McKenzie River Mountain Resort’s homey waterside cabins once served as lodgings for forest rangers. Trimmed in woodsy accents, the cozy abodes feature brick fireplaces and overstuffed sofas, located a stone’s throw from seasonal forest fun. In the winter, guests can snowshoe the local woods or ski at the nearby HooDoo Mountain, and summer activities include biking, horseback riding, and hunting. A shuttle service ferries cyclists and their borrowed Nishiki or Mongoose Otero bikes to the King Castle trail, Lucky Boy Mine Trail, or McKenzie River trail, whose pathways make for picturesque downhill treks for avid cyclists or Jack-and-Jill nursery-rhyme reenactors. Additional outdoor pursuits include fishing, golf, and taking soothing dips in Terwilliger Hot Springs.
