Mt. Hood Skibowl's 960 skiable acres—composed of 65 runs and the most black diamond courses in the state—and tubing slope let alpine enthusiasts hurl themselves downhill. 80% of the trails are geared toward intermediate and advanced skiers, with 100% of the trails made more challenging by the American Gladiators that hide behind trees. Upright hill hustlers opt to hone their craft with day-shift lift tickets, while beginners can practice using an all-day lift ticket on the Bumble Bee or Yellow Jacket trails. In Skibowl East, inflated discs shuttle recumbent riders down the snow-tube hill and automatic towropes hoist them back up.
Summit Ski Area has been a safe, less-steep habitat for snow bunnies since 1927. Summit provides the snow play equipment, so leave sleds, tubes, and ox-pulled toboggans at home.
