Nick's always hits. The service is great but not the wait. What would you expect for good food? After you get your wait-time, just take a walk in the park to kill time. It's healthy and you'll be ready to grub when you get back.

Nick’s is one of LA’s gems! ample servings of hearty breakfast or lunch menu items. Don’t be detoured by the small location the delicious meals are well worth the wait or ordering takeout. Customer service is great too.

Can't go wrong for breakfast or lunch. HUGE portions and a large menu.
Staff always friendly, helpful and are just terrific.
Lots of outdoor are to dine alfresco.
No beer or wine.
Try their home made tomato preserve, jams and of course the salsa.

Nick's Cafe plated its first ham and eggs in 1948—a fact that isn't surprising when one considers the restaurant's vintage elements, such as a bar-style service counter and tented outdoor patio. A throwback that retains strong connections to LA's diner heyday, Nick's continues to do things the old-fashioned way. That's not to say the menu hasn't evolved. Chef Luis Flores draws on local influences to complement the traditional burgers, hot dogs, and omelets with Mexican staples such as breakfast burritos, huevos rancheros, and sombreros filled with steamy coffee.
