Without gymnastics lessons, presidents would lack the poise to vault onto the world stage and the strength to grip the Oval Office ceiling for days before dropping down to attack their successors. Achieve presidential fitness with today's Groupon: for $27, you get one month of gymnastics or cheer classes (a $55 value) to Olympia Hills Gymnastics, with locations in Buda and Austin. Students attend one class per week.
Olympia Hills owner and operator Jeff Beal draws on his experience working alongside Olympic gymnastics coach Béla Károlyi to instruct kids aged 18 months and older in the springy science. Tumbling toddlers 18 months to 3 years old can somersault with parental training wheels still attached in the 45-minute Parent & Me class, where adults actively support their tots as they build the rolling and vaulting talents needed to evade falling meteors and earthbound astronauts when playing outside. In 55-minute girls’ gymnastics classes for ages 6 and up, lady leapers get a noncompetitive introduction to the beam, floor, trampoline, vault, uneven bars, and odd bars, and can opt for intermediate and advanced classes. Power-tumbling classes give cheerleading hopefuls ages 8 and older a solid tumbling foundation before they move on to advanced concepts such as timing, technique, and the correct moment to begin spinning in slow motion. Consult Olympia’s full list of classes and its schedule for additional information.
Olympia Hills Gymnastics
Bodies vault, twist, and somersault at Olympia Hills Gymnastics, defying gravity with solid technique and strength of will. The Gymnastics team provides training for kids of all ages and fitness goals ranging from fun tumbling classes to programs that prepare students for competition. Classes include cheer clinics, parent and me classes for kids ages 10 months to three years, and power tumbling classes for ages eight and up. In these classes, students learn how to throw their bodies in the air and maintain control and balance, with a focus on safety. After learning the basics, students can progress to advanced levels by invitation or whenever they show up with newly-sprouted wings.
