What You'll Get
A great ballet performer can be identified by their unbreakable focus, chiseled figure, and swan-like ability to land on water without getting their hair wet. Experience the thrill of disciplined dance with today’s Groupon: for $24, you get a level 1 seat for the Trey McIntyre Project at the Orpheum Theater (a $48 value) on Friday, May 20 at 8 p.m.
Led by its eponymous ballet maestro famed for choreographing more than 80 productions, Trey McIntyre Project fuses contemporary ballet with high-energy scores in a performance the Seattle Times calls “physical and precise; witty and intricate.” The company’s repertoire spans the musical time continuum from Beethoven and Chopin to the Beatles and Beck, with jazz, folk, and accordion-infused dubstep mixed in along the way. The Orpheum Theater hosts the evening’s revelry on its historical stage, surrounded by ornate architecture and elaborate chandeliers that create a vivid backdrop for the innovative performance on its third annual tour. Recent renovations have restored the theater to its original grandeur and improved the acoustics and views to a level that rivals the splash-zone seats at SeaWorld.
