What You'll Get
Though sweat indicates a great workout, inward sweating denotes an athlete with true humility. Work off extra slices of humble pie with today's Groupon: for $30, you get four kickboxing classes at Omni Martial Arts in Astoria (a $100 value).
Omni Martial Arts’ coterie of veteran instructors busts bodies into fighting shape with a cornucopia of combat styles tailored to pupils of all experience levels. One-hour kickboxing classes pour elements of western boxing, American kickboxing, and Muay Thai into a potent punchbowl of flying fists, knees, and elbows. Up-tempo movement burns fat while sculpting bodies into physical paragons, ideal for undercover missions in a museum's Greek-statue garden.
The schedule of kickboxing classes features offerings every Monday and Wednesday from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., during which time pupils will fight their way to fitness in classes of 10–20 students. The studio provides a pair of fist padders to each student for their first four classes, and those who decide to keep kicking can buy a fresh pair of gloves from the studio or win them from a begloved kangaroo in 12 rounds of knockdown combat.

About Omni Martial Arts
For sensei Julio Rivera, fighting and fitness have always gone hand in hand. After winning a national bodybuilding title at 19, Rivera started to explore martial arts under the guidance of world champion Jack Krystek, eventually earning his black belts in both judo and jiu jitsu. He continues to share that passion for focused fitness at Omni Martial Arts, where he helps his students build muscle and mental focus while maintaining high moral standards. Judo teams master throws, leverage, and body positioning, while MMA classes integrate ground grappling with striking skills to build well-rounded fighters. And whether participants are adults or children, sensei Julio and his fellow instructors ensure they all leave the mat with the poise and strength of a genteel puma.
