What You'll Get
Since cheetah-shoes don't yet exist and a tree stump with a saddle on it is hopelessly immobile, bicycles remain the best way to tour a city. See the sights in two-wheeled fashion with today's Groupon: for $55, you get a guided electric-bike tour for two from Pedal or Not in Santa Monica (a $118 value).
Pedal or Not's group tours weave through Venice's canals and along nearby beaches aboard beach-cruiser bicycles propelled either by the pumping of feet or an electric motor. After donning provided helmets, up to five people kick off their 2.5- to 3-hour guided tours at 9 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 4 p.m. daily, traveling astride an electric bicycle equipped with six gears, pillowy seating, and handlebars so robust they are frequently mistaken for bike antlers. Venice's canals undulate as cycling duos glide their velocipedes through breezy bike paths, or walk alongside their two-wheeled compadres and feel the waves crash against the Santa Monica pier. Cyclists will also visit the majestic Marion Davies Guest House, which takes on a nostalgic air as it remembers its tragic second-place finish in the Tour de France.

About Pedal or Not
Pedaling is optional aboard Pedal or Not's electric bicycles. Riders can always give their legs a break and let their bike's battery do the work during the company's guided bike tours. As the expert guides share facts about local history and art, groups cruise along the waterfront past the Santa Monica Pier, the Venice canals, and the skate park, where skaters can let their boards off their leashes. To complement their tours, the company also sells electric bikes by Pedego and A2B, in chic shapes and colors from lavender to orange.
