Choose Between Two Options

  • $342 for a Summer Math Camp on July 20-24, Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. for kids in grades 5-8 ($600 value)

During this academic enrichment camp, students in grades 5–8 spend five days increasing math proficiency with educational games, lessons, and one-on-one tutoring based on Stanford professor Jo Boaler’s research. Camps aim to reinforce grade-level math skills like arithmetic, fractions, decimals, and introductory algebra concepts ahead of the new school year.

  • $419 for Summer Teen Pilot Flight Academy Camp on August 3-7, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. for kids in grades 9-12 ($850 value)

This camp provides an immersive experience into aviation for teens in grades 9–12. Students learn all of the standard flight maneuvers and procedures required to become a licensed private pilot, from basic straight-and-level flight to cross country flying and crosswind landings. The camp also provides instruction inside a full motion, stationary and virtual flight simulator, and culminates in a field trip to an area airport.

Phoenix Arising Aviation Academy

The certified flight instructors and staff members at Phoenix Arising Aviation Academy share their passion not only with curious students, but also with disadvantaged youth during aviation-focused after-school programs. The nonprofit organization's extracurricular programs welcome students aged 7–18, and they strive to spark an interest in math and science through hands-on learning and exploration. Additionally, adult programs for both introductory and advanced flight training combine scenario-based lessons with sessions in the Redbird FM full-motion flight simulator—which accurately produces the sensations of taking off, navigating, and Airplane!’s most heartwarming scenes.

Customer Reviews

They've got all the virtues and vices of every small business. Because they don't have a massive clerical staff or the services of a call center, they were a tad hard to get hold of to schedule my session, but that's probably the only downside. On the upside, once I was there, the instructor was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Overall if you're interested in flight, this is certainly one good way to get started.

Absolutely wonderful experience for my son! He LOVED it!!!! The instructor was wonderful. It was a one-on-one instructional class with a majority of the time being spent in the flight simulator learning how to fly (and land). I would recommend this for anyone! Loved this Groupon!
