What You'll Get
A Segway's sensitivity to the slightest human touch renders it safer than an unwieldy automobile, which will keep barreling toward the Saarlac regardless of how insistently one leans to the left. Secure a sheltered ride with today's Groupon: for $49, you get a Russian River Vineyards Deluxe Segway Tour (a $99 value) from Segway of Healdsburg.
Offering guided tours through Sonoma County's vineyard-rich vistas, Segway of Healdsburg gives guests a taste of nature's beauty and the alcoholic improvements humans have made to it. After 20 minutes of safety training, the tour departs from the Healdsburg park-and-ride to investigate several of the region's finest wineries, such as Foppiano Vineyards. During the gyroscope-driven trek, which lasts about two hours, guests imbibe intoxicating scenery and swill the exhilarating sensation of gliding on a machine that takes care of all the complicated balancing work.
To keep the tour memories from fermenting, a guide records the experience with photos and videos that customers can access free of charge after the excursion is over. Tours depart on Mondays and Saturdays at 2 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Sundays at 10 a.m. Call to make a reservation and embark on a scenic journey in which the grapes of wrath have been replaced by the vines of placation.

About Segway of Healdsburg
Shira Steiger loves Healdsburg. Not only has she spent the last 17 years of her life living there, she has dedicated herself to running Segway of Healdsburg, a business that allows people to experience the local scenery with all their senses. In order to expose guests to their beloved area, she has designed tours that traverse the lush redwood forests and the microclimates of wine country, exposing guests to crisp arborous smells, tastes of local wines, and the calls of wild Segways. Before the tours, Shira’s experienced staff lead guests through 20 minutes of instruction, allowing riders to get their Segway legs before roaming through the countryside.
