A Chat with Smiling Owl Massage
What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Holistic, mindful massage to fit your bodies’ needs. Through stress reduction, symptom relief and education, my intention to help you restore a sense of goodness and comfort in your body.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
After receiving regular massage for many years for a painful back, I decided to pay it forward. I studied at Cortiva Institute in Seattle and have been in practice for 4 years.
What do you love most about your job?
I love building therapeutic relationships with my clients. This allows me to be the most effective that I can be with working with your needs.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
Best massages ever. I asked for deep tissue and it was deep tissue the entire time. Usually the practioner starts with strong pressure and backs off after 5 minutes. Felt really therapeutic. I’m sure you could request a light touch if you prefer. Highly recommended.

It was scoliosis that drew Danielle Mellroth to massage therapy. Her chronic pain and tension were relieved by a licensed massage therapist, a feat that pushed Danielle to pay it forward. So she became a licensed massage therapist herself. In fact, she even went one step further by completing training in cupping with the International Cupping Society. Cupping involves the application of heated cups to a client’s skin to create a vacuum that relieves stress and detoxifies the body. Combined with custom massage, it aids in relaxation and alleviating pain.
