Q&A with Gary Summers, Co-Owner and CFO
Describe a time your services really changed a client's life for the better.
We have often provided financial assistance and/or dance scholarships to families whose dancer(s) could not otherwise afford to continue dance.
How is your approach different than that of other professionals in your field?
We are very flexible in the placement of our dancers in classes, making every effort to appropriately set expectations. We make it very easy to find classes for the child, teen, or adult recreational dancer who enjoys dancing once or twice a week for the creative, fun, and physical outlet. If you are looking for a more disciplined program with more hours of training, we offer award-winning competition teams and a pre-professional ballet company.
Do you or your staff have any special certifications or degrees?
_Victoria Summers (owner and executive director) studied dance nationally, performed with the Rockford Dance Company, Rockford Dance Ensemble, and graduated Distinguished Scholar with a BS in dance performance. She is also a faculty advisor for the Harper College Pom and Dance Team, Dance Company, and Spirit Crew. Vicki is a 2012 recipient of the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce Presidential Award of Excellence and a 2005 recipient of the Entrepreneurial Award National Women in Management.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Summers Academy of Dance's objective is to help students develop scholastic aptitude and excel in life by providing excellent education through various forms of dance and performing arts.
The Dance Center offers both an instructional program, pre-professional program, and competition teams.
All Dance Company members are actively involved in making their community a better place to live through their participation in studio and volunteering for community events._
