By age 8, John Stuart Mill had learned Latin, Greek, and written a political treatise barring those with no knowledge of Latin or Greek from his tree house. Enliven your child's mind with today's Groupon: for $100, your child will receive a diagnostic Sylvan Skills Assessment and four one-hour tutoring sessions (up to a $499 value, including $80 registration fee) from Sylvan Learning. Choose between four Sylvan Learning centers in the San Francisco area: Redwood City, San Bruno, Burlingame, and West Portal.
As a nationally renowned tutoring program, Sylvan Learning utilizes a personalized tutoring approach to help kids of all ages catch up, keep up, and dominate in the hazardous child-eat-child world of school. During the initial visit, children will partake in a Sylvan Skills Assessment, which highlights any trouble spots and serves as a base line for future progress. Kids will then traverse four tailored-tutoring sessions, which aim to demystify math, reading, writing, study skills, and algebra. Sylvan issues regular progress reports, allowing parents to analyze their son's or daughter's developmental lobe. All available Sylvan Learning Centers are open Monday–Saturday with hours in the morning and afternoon.
Sylvan Learning Center
Understanding that each child learns differently, the staff members of Sylvan Learning Center’s numerous centers design custom lesson programs. Based on the results of standardized testing, diagnostic tools, and one-on-one interviews, the staff works with students to help them to firmly grasp basic skills such as reading, writing, math, and how to remember facts without tattooing them to their chest. Programs target students in kindergarten through grade 12 using various learning styles, helping kids to feel more comfortable in the classroom. After-school or summer classes can ready high-school students for the rigors of the ACT or the SAT, or they can help students to wow college admissions officers with their superior writing skills, exemplary test scores, and willingness to arm-wrestle the school mascot.
