Staff was FANTASTIC! (other than bartender who claimed that he could not serve coffee, even if there was alcohol in it!)

What You'll Get

If you try something new, you might really enjoy it, even if it's filling balloons with Hot Wheels and throwing them off a bridge to see if they'll float. Try some Turkish fare with today’s Groupon to Talulla’s in Chapel Hill. Choose between the following options:

  • For $20, you get $40 worth of authentic Turkish dinner cuisine, served Tuesday–Sunday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • For $10, you get $20 worth of authentic Turkish lunch cuisine, served Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Talulla’s re-creates traditional Ottoman cuisine in an opulent milieu, surrounding visitors with antique rugs, vibrant draped fabrics, and waves of eclectic, ambient music. Seated on plump cushions, guests can take in an authentic dinner menu of centuries-old Turkish recipes, lovingly coaxed into being with top-quality meats, organic flour and vegetables, and upside-down belly dancing. Meals may begin with one of Talulla’s Mediterranean mezzes—small, savory plates including the patlican ezmesi ($7), a smoked eggplant purée served with chopped walnuts, yogurt, and tahini—before continuing to robust entrees such as the sebzeli musakka ($17), a layered concoction of eggplant, tomatoes, zucchini, carrots, peas, onions, and potatoes, topped with cheese and béchamel sauce. Flash syrupy grins between bites of authentic desserts ($5–$7), or stop by for lunch to chow down on char-grilled lamb kebabs ($10) or Turkish-style pizza ($8–$10).

In the evenings, Talulla’s metamorphoses into a music-filled lounge, with plenty of international flair and strapping, mustachioed Janissaries. A vigorous event schedule includes weekly live jazz and DJ performances. Partying patrons cursed with layers of sticky phyllo dough instead of hands can also take advantage of Talulla’s complimentary valet service.
